Judith Poulteney

I have a master’s degree in Human Resource Development; have recently completed a post graduate certificate from the University of Warwick in Careers Education, Information and Guidance in Higher Education – which included modules on career development theory, career coaching, and the labour market; and I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development – awarded due to careers and management development work at strategic level.

My working life in public and private sector organisations, further and higher education and self employment, has given me a depth and breadth of experience to draw from.  My LinkedIn profile gives more information on this.

As well as my private work, I work as a careers adviser for the University of Birmingham on a casual basis.  I have been doing this since 2016 and it has developed my understanding and knowledge of the graduate labour market as well as bringing me into contact with students from the UK and internationally studying a wide range of subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

I am married with three sons all of whom have graduated in the last five years.  I know what it is like from a personal point of view to have family preparing UCAS personal statements, CVs, covering letters and application forms – as well as attending interviews – and how challenging, time-consuming and frustrating the recruitment process can be.

I am very proud of my clients and still in touch with many of them as they return to me for support with the next stage of their career.  I would welcome the opportunity to work with you and encourage you to get in touch if there is anything you would like to know.
